I’ve been meaning to say this in a long overdue mod post, since there are now so many new members since the last one (HELLO AND WELCOME :D) but yes, we have a tag! #blue sky portal and #blue sky support group are the only ones I’m actively tracking, although I do scroll through the #portal #wheatley and #blue sky tags (ughhh, the nonsense in the blue sky one, so many reblogs of the same instagram photo *weeps*) but usually not every day, since it’s a bit time consuming. So if you would like to share something specifically for Blue Sky fans and the community, please use our tag! Thanks guys :)

Also, FYI I’m only online a few hours a day and my time zone is GMT, so if I’m a bit late, or slow, sharing something that’s usually why. I know my posting schedule is a bit erratic, but I always get there in the end :D

Okay, I just got a question in my askbox, about who Garret and Foxglove were and so I told them about Blue Sky written by Waffles, that it’s a really excellent read and I highly recommend it…but I was really trying to hold back on saying…

” OMG!! THIS FIC!!! IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER! YOU HAVE TO READ IT! IT’S LIKE OMG!! I CAN’T EVEN DESCRIBE. UGGHHH SO MANY FEELS WHAT INTHEEVEN?!”

But I know that would probably scare them off. I really hope they enjoy it and we get some new fans in the process.

The last banner, and the one I know a lot of people have been looking forward to.

When Blue Sky began wrapping up, I wanted to top it off with a banner I knew would pay tribute to the whole adventure. I wanted it to measure up to all the previous banners. And most importantly, I wanted it ambiguous enough to not ruin the ending.

Even a year later, people are still talking about this story. It’s been an awesome ride. Thank you for being part of it. So everyone, please read Blue Sky.

On 3 Oct 2011 a writer named Waffles unleashed a masterpiece of emotional poignancy and startling depth unto the unsuspecting Portal fandom. Assisted by her creative writing partner Marsh, together they created a story that instantly connected with its readers, and inspired a passionate fanbase dedicated to expressing their admiration and enjoyment through fanworks of their own.

Today we celebrate the first anniversary of a little fanfiction called Blue Sky. HURRAY :D

In honour of this special occasion, I declare this to be AUTHOR APPRECIATION WEEK - I know what you’re thinking, that’s every week here at The Blue Sky Support Group. You’re right of course, but the difference is this: for the next week, I want to show Waffles and Marsh how much we appreciate their incredible story, so please tell them in your own words What Blue Sky Means To Me - why you enjoyed it, and what makes it so meaningful to you, as a thank you from all us.
